Getting to know God

GOD created you fearfully and wonderfully; before He formed you in the womb of your mother He knew you, and before you were born He sanctified and ordained you to become His sons and daughters. (ps 139:14; Jer 1:5)

God loves you; His desire for you is to know Him personally and intimately, and not to only know about Him.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16, KJV

Through God’s written Word, and through His Son, Jesus Christ, God reveals that He desires to fill you with hope, joy and peace; He came that you might have life and have it more abundantly. He desires to guide you continually and satisfy your soul. He does not want you to lean on your own understanding but to Trust in the LORD with all your heart. (John10:10; Rom15:13; Isa58:11; Pro3:5-6)

He desires to deliver you from the sufferings and pain of this present time; He shall wipe away all the tears from your eyes; He shall heal the broken hearted and bindeth up their wounds; He shall be your comfort in times of distress. (Rev21:4; Ps147:3)

‘Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.’ - Isaiah 41:10

God desires you to know the truth, and that truth shall make you free; He shall supply all your needs according to His riches and glory by Jesus Christ; He does not want you to perish but give you the gift of God of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Rom6:23; John8:32; Phil4:19)

‘If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.’ - 1 John 1:9

He desires to be a nurturer and a powerful presence in your life, not just an idea in your mind. Knowing Him means receiving His love. Following Him means walk in His ways. And let's tell it like it is: Accepting Jesus Christ as Lord of your life, and accepting His will, will change your life forever, on earth and eternally.

As you come to know God through a relationship with Jesus Christ, He no longer is a concept simply to be believed or disbelieved; He is a living reality who is available to be known and followed along a pathway that leads to freedom, healing, deliverance and eternal life.

According to the Bible, until you come to terms with Jesus, you haven’t dealt with the issue that’s most important in getting to know GOD.

In John 14:6 Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me.”

We cannot approach Father GOD through any other gate but through Jesus Christ only, which was God revealed in flesh. (John 1)

Through Him, countless millions have come to know the Father, transforming their individual lives as well as the entire course of human history. And Jesus continues to change history- one person at a time. He desires to change your life too. Transforming it from death to life. But He will not do so unless you invite Him into your life.

a Prayer that can be followed to begin a relationship with our Father in Heaven, through Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior:

“Father I come to you in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. I confess today that I am a sinner Lord and that I need Jesus Christ as my Savior. I confess all the times that I gave place to the devil in my thoughts, words and deeds as sin.

I confess all the times that I was disobedient to Your Word and disappointed You as sin and I ask You now to forgive me in Jesus Name. Thank You Father that I know You do forgive me now and that You will not remember my sins. (Hebr.8:12)

Lord now I confess that I believe with my whole heart that Jesus Christ died for me on the cross and was physically resurrected from death by God (Rom.10:9,10) to sit at Your right hand Father, and I proclaim that I now receive the Lord Jesus Christ (Joh.1:12,13) as my only King, my Lord, my Savior, my Redeemer and my Friend.

Lord I ask that You to lead me by Your Holy Spirit (Rom 8:14) and that You will teach me to stay in Your Word, to strive after sanctification and to live it (1 Peter 1:15,16). Please give me a new hunger for Your Word Lord and personally reveal Your Scriptures to me by Your Holy Spirit. Thank You Lord that I may know that I may also be Your child and may live under the leading of Your Holy Spirit. Amen.”
