Great Mercies Promised to the Repented

'Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; ‘- Acts 3:19

'And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath driven thee, And shalt return unto the Lord thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul; That then the Lord thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath scattered thee. If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the Lord thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee: And the Lord thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers. And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live. And the Lord thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee. And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the Lord , and do all his commandments which I command thee this day. And the Lord thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the Lord will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers: If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul. For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off. It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it. See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it. But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it. I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.'

Deuteronomy 30:1-20

Our Fathers heart, will, and character is displayed throughout His Torah (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy); The Torah is referred to in most translations as 'the Law' or 'the Law of Moses', which can, and is mostly misunderstood by the western mind.

The word 'Law' used in scripture is 'Torah' in Hebrew and the actual meaning of 'Torah' is: Instruction, Teaching, and Guidance. The Torah contains our Fathers instructions, teaching, and guidance for life. It is to protect us from the snares of the enemy that draws us back into bondage. They should instead refer this as 'Law of God’ because Moses was only a messenger of God to reveal our Fathers' instructions, teachings, and guidance to His nation.

In Deuteronomy 30 we can clearly see our Fathers' heart for us to repent and turn back to Him and listen and obey His voice. His mercy and blessing is promised to those who repent.

Our Father has set before us life and good, and death and evil;

From verse 5 to 9 He explains His promise and blessing to us, followed by verse 10 with the precondition to His promise -

'If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul. '

Deuteronomy 30:10

We cannot receive His promise and grace without repentance. All Gods' promises are coupled with a precondition. Yeshua (Jesus) told us likewise in John 3:16 about eternal life.

' For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. '

John 3:16

The precondition to everlasting life is – ‘that whosoever believeth in Him’

That is why we have the choice of life or death; To obey Him as He commanded us to love the Lord thy God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that thou may live and multiply; and the LORD the God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it. - Deu 30:16

Again, the promise to live and multiply and for our Father to bless us is coupled with the precondition of: to love Him, walk in His ways, keep His commands, statutes, and judgments.

Our Father cannot bless us if we don't love Him and doesn't obey His instructions.

I know of numerous professing followers of Christ that is so focused on God’s blessings; they name and claim His blessing upon them without fulfilling the precondition of God’s promise to them. They only want God’s blessing and not God Himself. They are more concerned about themselves, their self-esteem and what they can get from God instead of being a humble servant no matter the cost. They are not concerned to change their way of walk, their thinking, their habits, or their character. They don’t want to become like Christ or Christ-minded because that would imply, they have to start to walk as He walked.

If we want to walk as He walked, and become like Him, let us return to Abba Father, repent and love the LORD our God, and obey His voice, and cleave unto Him for He is our life and the length of our days.

Jesus said the following:' If ye love me, keep my commandments. ' - John 14:15

Our Father loves us and does not want us to perish that is why He gave us His Word, to listen(1) and obey(2), to live in liberty and not in bondage anymore; Christ died for us so that we can obtain His mercy and forgiveness to become His sons and daughters; He called us as (3) a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

(1) ‘So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.’ - Romans 10:17

(2) ' If ye love me, keep my commandments. ' - John 14:15

(3) But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:- 1 Peter 2:9

May the Holy Spirit convict you wholly, guide and direct you to the light and truth of His Word in Jesus' Name.

Mercy, peace and love multiplied unto you
